So here we are in Lockdown #3, with Mother’s Day less than a week away. If you were anything like me, you spent lockdown announcement day last Tuesday getting stuff for work organised and picking up a few supplies, with Mother’s Day not even on the radar.
With shops now shut, and recent purchases having been directed mainly towards supporting our local food suppliers – buying local produce and ordering in take aways – you may still have buying a Mother’s day gift on your ‘to do’ list.
The good news is, we are open! Our lovely local businesses are (mostly) able to fulfil your orders, although I know one or two have had to close through being required to isolate.
Here are some cracking ideas for you that could be just the job and won’t break the bank during these tough financial times.

New seller Pooil Vaaish has listed these stunning personalised slate hanging signs. At just £25 these are really stylish and I can’t imagine that anyone would not like one! Just pop what you would like the engraving to say in the comments at check out and they will send you some visuals within 24 hours.

I don’t know why flags look better when they are all beaten up, but they just do! If your mum is Manx and proud then my bet is she’ll love this and at just a few pennies over a tenner including local delivery it’s a lovely affordable gift if you’re on a budget. Click here to buy.
Chocolate and sweet treats are always a firm favourite for Mother’s Day and we’ve got some divine options in store. Check out Mostly Manx’s Luxury Sweet Hamper including the fabulous new Peggy’s Rum Truffle Chocolates; the Conscious range of vegan and gluten free chocolates from TOTI and the most fabulous range of handmade chocolates from Chocoates of Man. Top tip – spend £15 with Chocolates of Man and use the coupon code ‘chocaholic’ at checkout to get free delivery island wide.
Every lady I know loves adding to her jewellery box and we have some amazingly beautiful pieces for you to choose from. Soft leather earrings in sumptuous colours; resin pendants and earrings that intrigue with swirling mica; intricate bead work, glass, felt and silver – you really are spoilt for choice!
And if all that isn’t enough to tempt you to browse the store then I don’t know what will! Lol. So many gorgeous things to choose from and all from Manx sellers.
