New Month, New Sellers

Can you believe it’s May already! I hope you’re all ok and have survived the last lockdown unscathed. I know I found it more difficult than the last one. Hopefully from here on in we will be able to move forward and start to get our lives back to normal.

During the last few weeks, we’ve been quietly helping some new sellers to get set up and we’re delighted to welcome them to the Quirky commumity. Here’s a small selection to show you some of the quality and variety you can now buy online from local sellers. Click on the photos to hop over to their shop pages and check out their other items. Oh, and you can buy things too if you like!

Oscar pet foods is a new franchise to the island bringing quality pet products for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish and other small animals with delivery directly to your door.

If you work in Douglas it can be a total nuisance trying to get to the pet shop during the week, so why not order from Nick and take the stress out of it, confident that your fur babies won’t be going hungry.

ReimagineGifts makes lovely unique pieces of jewellery using sea glass found on the island’s beaches. Using recycled eco Sterling Silver where possible – reusing is a very important part of Heather’s ethos – she hopes to avoid adding to the world’s disposables by reusing and reimagining recycled materials.

There are also some lovely sea glass pictures available and you can contact her directly for commissions too.

Ray Kelly’s Manx tholtans books have been extremely popular, with volume 2 now having sold out. The re-print of v olume 1 is going ahead though, despite not quite getting to desired numbers, but that does mean there will be a few copies still available for sale if you’ve not got around to putting your order in yet.
Check out Ray’s shop page for T shirts and mugs too, and keep an eye on Ray’s social media and Quirky’s Facebook page for more details about the event in mid July at Tholy y Will, when you will be able to collect your copies of the 2nd edition of Volume 1.

Cornerstone Crafts is brightening up your exercise classes with these lovely, colourful yoga mat carriers.

Practical and easy to identify, there’ll be no mistaking which is yours when it’s time to pack up at the end of class. Handmade on the island by Marcelle.

These would make a lovely gift for the yoga enthusiast in your life.

This lovely shadow box is made by Artazia Design and is completely customised to record your new baby’s name, date of birth, height and weight. You can add other specifics too such as their zodiac sign for example.

And last for today, but by no means least, please welcome Tami James, whose lovely artwork of the island is sure to appeal to many.

It’s very affordable too, this stunning original of Castletown from the beach is 12″ x 8″ and only £100.
