Hello and welcome to my pet portraits and wildlife art shop!
My name is Meriel Burden. I’m a passionate animal lover, and qualified veterinary nurse, with an honours degree in Fine Art (painting). Prior to this I completed my Art Foundation in Douglas, Isle of Man, studying under the late, brilliant, Dave Fletcher and Norman Sayle.
My days are filled painting dogs, cats, horses and other creatures from my home studio in Kirk Michael in the Isle of Man. I share my space with two Swedish Vallhund puppers, Tippi and Captain Varg, and Pharaoh Hound Orla, who do a good job making sure I spend some time with them on the beach or up in the hills daily!
Anyway, back to the important stuff!
I have been painting pets and wildlife professionally for 18 years. So you can be happy that I can create for you a portrait, together with the kind of service, that both you and your pet (or that of a loved one) deserve.
I will paint not only a true likeness of your furry family member, I will also make sure that his or her character shines through in every brushstroke. I want your painting to be full of the joy that your pet brings to your life.
I love to hear stories about the pets I paint so don’t be shy about telling them! These stories help me get to know your friend better, and are often very moving too.
