Harris Tweed Card and Cash purse/wallet
Made in Harris Tweed in a lovely shade of Lincoln Green, this innovative, double section coin purse measures approximately 4.25 inches (10.75 cms) wide and 3.25 inches (8.5 cms) high and is completely made by me in my sewing studio right here on the Isle of Man.
Although it is exactly the right size to slip into your bag or pocket filled with coins, a few notes and perhaps a credit card or two, it could also be used to carry a small sewing kit or use with your larger project bag to hold your stitch counters for your crochet or knitting.
I’ve made it from pure Harris Tweed – an inter-Island collaboration between me here on the Isle of Man and a weaver on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland.
The front is embroidered with a discreet bee in flight – an embroidery echoed on its companion piece, the Harris Tweed Baguette Bag.
It is fully lined with pure cotton in a toning shade of green with gold dots which complements the colours of the tweed. Of course it has a zipped top which, when opened, reveals two separate compartments.
An unusual feature of this design is that it is held in shape by snaps which, when opened, means that the purse opens out completely flat meaning it can slip easily into your bag. If you wish it is also easy to post to a friend or a loved one to say you are thinking of them.
