This is a small monkey puzzle bowl made from a fallen branch from monkey puzzle tree in the north of the Isle of Man . The wood was collected three years ago and stored until it was dry enough to be
turned and and finished. The bowl features stunning offshoots which when polished look like flowers. This traditional shaped bowl is 11cm wide and 7cm deep. It would equally at home on a table filled with nibbles as it’s finished with a food safe coating or as a decorative piece.

Mark got his love of wood from growing up on a farm in Northern Ireland and spending a lot of his time in the forests and countryside.

Moving to the Isle of Man over 20 years ago, he began working as a tree surgeon and his inspiration to create out of the wood he cut down began to grow! And so it began, over the years it has developed into woodturning, wall hangings, sculpture and bespoke furniture.

He now has a ‘mountain’ of native Manx woods including, elm, yew, laburnum, cherry and many, many more! All waiting in the various stages of readiness to turn into beautiful unique pieces of art
