HAPPY AUGUST

I’M BAAAAAAACK!

      Well, August may have started off in a rather crummy way - weatherwise here on the Isle of Man - but I'm confident there are lots more sunny, happy days ahead! With this in mind, I'm thinking of bags and purses that you can carry with you to parties, weddings, the beach etc etc and so you will find some of these "Summer Specials" listed with a few more to come. I'm also pondering a Summer Special Sale.... to run for August.  So check those out - along with my latest products. Whatever you are doing this month - have a happy, happy time!

THE WHALE TAIL BAG
A medium sized tote bag in crisp indigo denim with a delicately embroidered whale tail or fluke, fully lined in Dutch batik fabric with internal zipped and slip pockets. Finished with a central magnetic snap closure and faux leather straps which are double riveted for extra strength.

So much to say about this bag! It is my own design and completely unique. I use a variety of fabrics from my stash and when they are gone they are gone!
This serves as a tote bag, shoulder bag or casual shopper. The firmly riveted straps mean that the bag can either be held in the hand or fit neatly under the shoulder. The zip pocket is great for cash and other small items and the slip pocket handy for parking tickets or credit cards.

It is approximately four inches wide across the base which makes it deceptively roomy. The central magnetic snap keeps the contents safe.

The embroidery is of a whale tail – delicately embroidered with a lot of detail. It is stitched in white embroidery thread, the lovely sheen of which is picked out in the top stitched detail on the sides, back and top of the bag.

The lining is a piece of Dutch cotton batik which I have had for a while now – just waiting to be paired with this classic deep indigo denim.

Finally, check out the tiny Tibetan Silver mermaid on the internal zip pocket!

I’ve been a Fabricaholic, sewist and embroiderer for as long as I can remember and this obsession has started slowly but surely to extend itself into other areas – mainly embroidery and handmade bags.

I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting designs to enhance my products and add that unique touch.

My main focus is bags which vary from make up bags to tote bags to high end leather handbags. I use a great variety of fabrics from linen to leather, cotton to cork.

I also make items for home decor – embroidered pictures, embroidered tea towels, AGA pads, fabric storage boxes etc – even the odd cushion!  You can find these in my sister store Cinnamon Homestyle.

I mostly make what I love and hope that someone else will love it too and want to own it.

Everything I make is made by me – right here on the Isle of Man in my home studio.
