Architects are never truly on holiday. They are always looking at buildings. Patricia has photographed many aspects of architecture, including building-integrated sculpture, whether intact, or removed. She is offering a pair of images on this theme:
‘Three Goddesses’ – figures from the frieze, part of the Elgin Marbles in the British Museum (removed from the Parthenon by Lord Elgin) digital capture, 2011;
and ‘Avian Encounter’ – part of the frieze on the Secession Building, Vienna, by Josef Olbrich (intact, although now painted white), film capture 1977, digital scan and print.
Alternatively, Manx purchasers may collect the flat boxed print from the photographer, by appointment. Packaging is included in the price; postage will be at Manx postal rates.
*Giclee is simply the French term for inkjet printing, or ejaculate, but it has been widely adopted as a pretentious term for the best practice in inkjet printing.
