I have worked this piece and left the natural edge to give it an unusual look. This type of look is becoming more and more popular.
The wood itself came from a tree felled in Ramsey, Isle of Man.

Mark got his love of wood from growing up on a farm in Northern Ireland and spending a lot of his time in the forests and countryside.

Moving to the Isle of Man over 20 years ago, he began working as a tree surgeon and his inspiration to create out of the wood he cut down began to grow! And so it began, over the years it has developed into woodturning, wall hangings, sculpture and bespoke furniture.

He now has a ‘mountain’ of native Manx woods including, elm, yew, laburnum, cherry and many, many more! All waiting in the various stages of readiness to turn into beautiful unique pieces of art
